Funeral Home, Cremation & Cemetery Services Serving West Odessa, TX
When a West Odessa family needs help, we answer 24 hours a day at (432) 563-9767.
West Odessa has an identity of its own, and American Heritage serves it that way. Families here come to us for funeral, cremation, cemetery, burial, and memorialization care from one local West Texas team, rather than having to piece those needs together across several providers.
American Heritage serves families throughout West Odessa, Odessa and the Midland-Odessa area from our N FM 1788 campus. Our funeral home, more-than-30-acre cemetery, and on-site crematory are together in one place, allowing families to work with the same organization through the decisions that follow a death.
Funeral and memorial services
A meaningful service does not have to look the same for every family. Some West Odessa families choose our chapel. Others want a service at their own church or place of worship, followed by burial at American Heritage Cemetery. Some prefer a smaller memorial or a graveside gathering.
We help coordinate those pieces so the family is not left trying to manage several providers at once. Our staff can assist with the service, burial or cremation, cemetery arrangements, and memorialization while keeping everyone on the same page.

Cremation under the care of one local team
When a family chooses cremation, one of the most important questions is what happens after their loved one enters the funeral home's care.
Our crematory is part of the American Heritage campus itself, alongside the funeral home and cemetery. Once your loved one enters our care, no transfer to an outside crematory in another town is ever needed — responsibility stays with the same local team from beginning to end.
For families, that means fewer handoffs, a clearer chain of responsibility, and a direct answer to the question of who is caring for their loved one.

Cemetery, burial and memorialization
American Heritage Cemetery spans more than 30 acres and offers families a range of burial and memorialization options.
Because the cemetery is part of the same campus as our funeral home and crematory, families can discuss funeral arrangements, cemetery property, burial, and memorialization with one organization. That keeps important decisions connected and gives the family one team to call as plans take shape.

Care for veterans and their families
A veteran's service deserves careful attention to both the ceremony and the benefits available to the family. We help families coordinate military honors, understand veterans benefits, and review special veteran property pricing at American Heritage Cemetery.
Our staff can walk through the available options and help make sure the practical details support the tribute your family wants to create.
Support after the loss of an infant
For families who lose an infant, we waive our basic services fee for the funeral director and staff. We also typically provide either cremation or a casket at no charge and may donate a grave space. Marker costs are not included.
These are difficult decisions to face at any time, especially when a family is grieving the loss of a child. Call us, and we will explain what is available and help you through the next steps with care.
Planning ahead
Preplanning allows you to make decisions while there is time to think about what matters to you. It can also reduce the number of choices your family has to make later.
We can help you consider funeral, cremation, cemetery, and memorialization options, record your wishes, and understand the choices available without pressure.
Help is available day or night
Families do not always need a funeral home during business hours.
Our phones are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After office hours, a live answering service that works exclusively with funeral homes answers the call and connects the family with our on-call funeral director.
