A funeral or memorial service can be held in our chapel, at your family’s church or place of worship, or graveside at American Heritage Cemetery. It can be part of either burial or cremation.

Where can the service be held?
Three choices, and they are yours to make:
- Our chapel here at American Heritage
- Your family’s own church or place of worship
- Graveside at American Heritage Cemetery
Where you hold the service and whether you choose burial or cremation are separate decisions. We can help you work through both.
You do not have to arrange everything yourself
A funeral involves more than choosing a time and a place.
We can coordinate directly with hospice, the hospital, and the medical examiner’s office when that applies. If hospice is caring for your loved one, the hospice nurse can contact us at the time of death, so your family does not have to manage that handoff.
If your family has a church or a minister, we work with them. If you do not have a minister, we can help arrange an officiant.
We can help write and edit the obituary, using the details and photographs your family gives us.
If getting to the funeral home is difficult, the paperwork does not always have to wait until you can come in. We can send documents for signing remotely when appropriate.
We can help with as little or as much as you want.
Burial or cremation can both include a service
Choosing cremation does not mean giving up a funeral or memorial service.
If cremation is chosen, a service may be held before the cremation or afterward.

What does a funeral or memorial service cost?
Our prices are published online. You do not have to call just to find out what things cost.
A traditional funeral service is $6,685. That covers preparation and embalming, viewing and visitation, and the ceremony at your church or in our chapel. Caskets are selected separately and run from $1,195 to $4,195. Cemetery costs are separate again.

Funeral home, cemetery and crematory on one campus
Our funeral home, cemetery and crematory are together on one property at 4100 N FM 1788 in Midland. Our cemetery covers more than 30 acres.
If cremation is chosen, it takes place on our campus. Your loved one does not need to be transferred to an outside crematory after entering our care.
