William Duane “Dud” Henderson William Duane “Dud’ Henderson, 81, of Midland, passed away on February 25, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Dud was born on December 31, 1938, in Boyd, Texas to Ollie (Roberts) Henderson and Joseph “Weldon” Henderson. Dud graduated from Boyd High School in 1958, where he excelled as a blocking back for the varsity football team. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the National Guard. He spent many years working in the oilfields of west Texas and retired in 1988. Dud enjoyed raising roosters, hens, pigs, goats, and various other farm animals, hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake. Dud married Shirley (Clevenger) Bean in Stephenville, Texas on June 28, 1989, and remained with Shirley until his passing. Dud lived all over Texas throughout his life, in cities such as Odessa, Boyd, Glen Rose, and Midland. He was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ollie Henderson; maternal grandparents, James and Ella (Wills) Roberts; paternal grandparents, Mack Sr. and Nora (Calloway) Henderson; four brothers, Carley “Corch” Henderson, Jackie Ray Henderson, Jesse Henderson, and Larry Henderson; stepson, Darren Bean; mother-in-law, Naomi Glossip of Springfield, MO; and father-in-law, Harvey Clevenger of Oildale, CA. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley; stepchildren, Darla (Bean) Brazeal and husband Danny of Midland, Texas; Dana (Bean) Willingham and husband Larry of Dale, Texas; and Danial Bean and wife Jennifere of Pflugerville, Texas; brothers, Melvin Henderson of Bend, Oregon and Dale Henderson of Breckenridge, Texas; sister, Irene “Sister” (Henderson) Ray and husband Johnny of Hale Center, Texas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many lifelong friends. To honor Dud’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services, or memorial.
