Manuel Rodarte

Our Heavenly Father called home his son Manuel Rodarte on May 6, 2015. Vaya Con Dios, sweet brother and friend. You will be loved and missed, but never forgotten. Manuel was born in Stanton, Texas to the late Daniel Longoria and Beatrice Lomeli. He was raised in Midland, Texas and attended Midland schools. In 1974, he proudly joined the National Guard servicing 19 years with honorable discharge. He was a quiet gentleman and worked hard all his life, strong as an ox and stubborn as a mule! He worked many years as a professional carpet layer for Moffatt Carpet. For the last 25 plus years he was employed by Permian Maintenance. Manuel was a loyal, honest employee and loved by everyone, including long time customers. He enjoyed fishing on the Rio Granda, dove hunting, and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Midland Memorial Hospital staff, Allison Cancer Center, Buena Vida staff and Home Hospice of Midland. Thank you for making him comfortable during his last days and hours. A special thank you to Dr. & Mrs. G. Brachetta for your sincere care, concern, respect and daily visits to encourage our dear brother and friend. Also, thank you to Dean and Judy for your love, care and friendship throughout his employment and illness. To all these people and everyone who sent cards, food, flowers and prayers, we will be eternally grateful. He is preceded in death by brother, Daniel Longoria, Jr. and Joe Rodarte. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Rafaela Romero, Lucy Peres, Teresa Sanchez, Carol Torango, Dolores Segovia and Rosa Lujan; brother, Ray Longoria; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, his fishing compadres, Midland Decond Baptist Church and his “Victory Bible Class” extended family. A memorial celebration will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at American Heritage Chapel. A gathering at 2:00 p.m. will be held for military honors by the VFW Honor Guard at American Heritage Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery and Funeral Home.
