Jeanne Thomas Patton

Jeanne Thomas Patton, age 85, of Midland, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Jeanne was born on August 18, 1940, in Midland, Texas, to Lee Charles and Ona Thomas. On May 3, 1959, she married the love of her life, William Dwayne Patton, also in Midland. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and shared purpose. A gifted and accomplished singer, Jeanne found joy in lifting her voice in praise and was deeply devoted to sharing her faith. She and Dwayne were founding members of Wilshire Park Baptist Church, where they were pillars of the congregation. Jeanne also worked for many years with Midland Independent School District, where she left a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike. Jeanne absolutely loved singing, her family, and her church. She cherished time spent camping and fishing, playing bingo with friends (especially when money was involved), and being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In earlier years, she enjoyed cross-stitching, finding peace and creativity in every thread. More than anything, Jeanne deeply loved her Lord and lived a life that reflected that devotion in every way. Jeanne is survived by her devoted children, Tyler Patton and his wife Michelle, and Tricia Elliott and her husband Mike; her loving grandchildren, Matthew Patton and his wife Miranda Noland, Amber Cervantes and her husband David, and Chastin Ellison; and her adored great-grandchildren, Zachary, Izabella, Riley, Sealey, Stella, Delilah, and Nellie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who were deeply cherished and enriched by her love, warmth, and generous spirit. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwayne Patton; her parents, Lee Charles and Ona Thomas; her brother, Lee Thomas Jr.; and her sister, JoAnn Deck-all of whom no doubt welcomed her into eternal peace. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12th, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Jeanne's life will take place on Saturday, September 13th at 2:00 PM at Wilshire Park Baptist Church in Midland, with Chris Osborne officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Breast Cancer Foundation in Jeanne's memory.
