Earl Lewis Waterbury

Earl Lewis Waterbury, 56, of Odessa, TX was unexpectedly called home on March 12, 2016. He was born January 3, 1960 in Farmington, NM to the late Van and Elizabeth Waterbury. In 1971, Earl moved to Coleman, TX where he graduated from Coleman High School in 1977. Shortly after graduation, Earl joined the United States Marine Corps and served four years. After his military duties, he began working in the oilfield eventually moving to Odessa, TX. Earl was a well known and well respected guy. His best days were spent on a rig with the guys of Patterson - UTI #484 where everyone considered each-other family. He married the love of his life, Lynn Waterbury, February 13, 1998 and became an instant father to five children, whom he loved deeply. Earl loved to laugh and never met anyone who did not like him instantly. He told some pretty crazy stories about his younger self that anyone who knew him had a difficult time believing he was capable of such things. He will be deeply missed. Earl is survived by his wife, Lynn Waterbury; five kids, Jessie Taylor and wife Amber of Midland, Misti Trull and husband Joe, Cody Ryan and Michael Ryan, all of Odessa, Kelly Ryan of Canon City, CO; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany Taylor, Taci Taylor, Shyenn Taylor and J.B. Taylor, all of Midland, Mathew Trull and Nathan Trull of Odessa, Kaylee Ryan of Wichita Falls, TX, Kailynn Ryan and Natalie Smiley, all of Odessa, Miranda Ryan, Kayla Ryan, Allysun Ryan and Damien Weaver, all of Greeley, CO; nephews, Michael Waterbury and wife Christie of Odessa; great nieces, Jacqueline Waterbury and Tearnie Waterbury, both of Odessa, Jackie Davis of Burleson, TX; niece, Patty Davis or Burleson, TX and great nephew, Axel Strength of Odessa. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Hall; brother, Randy Waterbury; grandchildren, Heather and Hailey Ryan and Kyler Ryan. Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving visitors from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. All arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery, Funeral Home and Crematory, 4100 N FM 1788 in Midland.
