Allen Wayne Brashier

Allen Wayne Brashier, of Odessa, passed away at 11:05am Wed, August 12, 2015, at Medical Center Hospital. He was 73 years old. He was born August 25, 1941, in Buna, TX, to Edgar & Donie Brashier. After graduation from Buna High School, Wayne served his country in the US Air Force. He especially enjoyed serving in Korea. After his service, he returned to Southeast TX, and worked for Temple Inland, a paper mill, for 17 years. He moved to Odessa in 1981, and worked for the City of Odessa – Utilities Derrington Plant for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Wayne was extremely dedicated to everything he did. He is a past member of the Prospectors Club of Odessa, as well as the Gem and Mineral Society. He loved going deer hunting on the Herron Ranch in Coleman County, with his buddy, Don Herron. He also loved dove hunting with his friend, Lloyd (Rabbit) Parrent. He especially loved going camping and hanging out with the Oil City Sams, our local chapter of the Good Sam RV Club. He enjoyed working on building projects, large & small, especially woodworking. He would help anyone with any project they needed help with. He spent many hours sitting on the front porch visiting with neighbors and all the neighborhood kids. Wayne & Lori would alternate hosting neighborhood block parties. Wayne married Lori Hudson on October 5, 1990. Affectionately called “Boo” by Lori, they were very happy together for almost 25 years. “I wish I could have my precious Boo for another 25 years, but I know he is happy & healthy in Heaven, with his sweet Cathy. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Tho he had numerous health issues, he never complained, was always upbeat, and alert & joking til the very end. I want to thank everyone who rallied around us while Boo spent the last month of his life in the hospital. My parents, Walter & Thelma Hudson, spent numerous hours with us at MCH. Lyndel & Traci Hudson, have been there for us every step of the way, & have done so much for us. Pastor John VanHoose spent many hours visiting & praying with us in the hospital. Numerous other friends & family have visited & prayed for us, offering unending support. Thank you.” Boo was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mom, Francine Brashier, his brother, Elmer Littlepage, his sister, Jackie Leggett, and his sweet daughter, Cathy Sue Brashier, age 15, in 1981. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 25 years, Lori Brashier, of Odessa, his son & daughter-in-law, Keith Brashier & Danielle Rominski, of Pipe Creek, TX, 3 grandchildren, Amanda Lynne Brashier, Shawn Steven Brashier, & Savannah Dylan Brashier, all of San Antonio, TX, 2 great-grandchildren, Skylar Aries Barnes & Lance Syrus Barnes, brother & sister-in-law Marvin & Melissa Littlepage, of Lumberton, TX, sister-in-law, DeeDee Littlepage, of Silsbee, TX, sister & brother-in-law, Linda & Richard Melvin, of Silsbee, TX, & numerous nephews & nieces. Also surviving him are his parents-in-law, Walter & Thelma Hudson, his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Lyndel & Traci Hudson, Les & Sandy Hudson, special niece, Brook Nicole Hudson, & brand new great niece, Sadie Faith Hudson, all of Odessa, TX. Visitation will be on Friday from 6pm – 8pm at American Heritage Cemetery & Funeral Home. Funeral service & burial are scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10:00am at American Heritage Cemetery & Funeral Home at West Texas Memorial Park, located at 4100 N. FM 1788, Midland, TX.
