William Wesley Schmidt

William Wesley (Bill) Schmidt, age 56, passed away on April 9, 2024, in Odessa, TX. Bill was born in San Antonio, TX on October 2, 1967, to William H. and Anna Schmidt. He graduated from A. S. Johnston High School in 1985 and attended Texas Tech for two years to study Marine Biology. In 1989, he had his twin daughters Krysti and Staci. In 2000, he met his bonus daughters Chelsea and Ashton. In 2019 he met the love of his life Martha and bonus children Marina, Mikaela, Josh, and Josiah. Bill's children and grandchildren were his world and always made sure they were well loved and provided for. In February 2020, Bill married his soulmate, Martha. Together they had a beautiful life traveling and enjoying every moment. In 2023, Bill joined Martha to be an active member at Mid-Cities Church where they were greeters at Sunday morning service. Bill found his passion in working for the school districts as a journeyman plumber to provide for his family, starting in �Rockport, TX and ending with him retiring in November 2023 in Odessa, TX. Bill was a hard worker, handyman, cook, a kind father, loving husband and supportive friend. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family, exploring, fishing, cooking, trying new restaurants, completing yard and house projects, and watching the Star Wars trilogy. Bill was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer which metastasized in January 2024. He stayed strong during this time fighting to beat this disease. He was surrounded by his loved ones and is no longer in pain. We would like to thank the medical staff at Medical Center Hospital, Texas Oncology, and the Texas Tech team for their dedication of our beloved and making sure he had the best care they could offer. Bill is survived by his wife Martha Schmidt; daughters Krysti Whitman and husband Dillon Whitman, Staci Woods, Chelsea Williams, Ashton Blevins, Marina Aguirre and husband Adrian Caballero, Mikaela Cardwell and husband Christian Cardwell; sons Joshua Aguirre and Josiah Aguirre; brother Paul Schmidt and wife Laura Schmidt; parents William H. Schmidt and wife Anna Schmidt; and many beloved grandchildren and nieces. Bill's celebration of life will be on Monday, April 15th at 11am at Mid-Cities 191 church.
