Obituary of William R. Luxford II William (Bill) Royce Luxford II beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into heaven on Friday, May 20 th, 2022 in Midland, TX. Bill is the son of the late William R. Luxford and Jane Luxford. Bill was born on December 17, 1938, in Buffalo, New York. He lived in New York until the age of nine when his parents moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating high school Bill served our country proudly in the United States Navy. After he served in the Navy, he earned his bachelor's degree in education from the University of New Mexico. Bill taught in the public school system in Bernalillo, NM and Odessa, TX. His years in education culminated in over thirty years. He had a love for music performing with the United States Naval Band, teaching student's the art of drums and serving two amazing churches Believers Center of Albuquerque and Odessa Christian Faith Center. He had a fondness for the tympani drum and served the Lord with his incredible talent. Bill was married to the light of his life and best friend, Brenda Luxford for forty years'! Together Bill and Brenda have three daughters. Bill leaves behind to carry his legacy his wife, Brenda. Daughter, Kimberlie Martinez, Son In-law Jesse Martinez, grandchildren, Makenzie Martinez, Victoria Martinez and Porter Martinez of Midland, TX. Daughter, Laurie Kendall, Son In-law, Daniel Kendall and granddaughter, Morgan Kendall of Bradenton, FL. Grandson, Kaleb Kendall of Albuquerque, NM. Granddaughter, Mariah Taylor, her husband Justin Taylor and Great Granddaughter, Ella-Mae Taylor of Albuquerque, NM. Daughter, Julie Padilla, Son In-law Adam Padilla, grandchildren, Connor Padilla and Emma Padilla of Owasso, Oklahoma. Granddaughter, Salina Padilla of Albuquerque, NM and Grandson, Nathaniel Padilla of Albuquerque, NM. Bill's cousin, Lynda Pierce of AZ. Brother In-law, Robert and Sister In-law, Helen of Aurora, CO. Family was an integral part of Bill's life right up to his last breath literally as family was around him when he left earth and transitioned to heaven. Bill had a great love for railroading! His fondness of trains would take him to building train layouts, becoming a master train hobbyist, a garden railroader, building circus trains, editing train magazines, working at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens and operating their train layout as well as riding the great rails of many trains in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and his last big full ride last summer in Branson, Missouri. Our lives are forever changed because of the gentle nature of this incredible man! He was a true fighter and fought a health journey that began in January of this year. To the very end he wanted to fight and had a zeal for life. Though you're not here in the physical we find comfort that someday we'll see you again, face to face. Bill, the Sandia and Manzano Mountains are watching you. We, as a family are forever grateful for you and the fabric of memories that are intertwined in our hearts. Until, we see each other again, we love you Dad, Bill, Bo and Grandpoe!! Forever in our hearts! He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
