Sondra Cantrell Bomar

Sondra “Nana” Bomar, 74, passed away from this life and on to her eternal home in the early morning hours of November 7th, 2016. She was born on August 23, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Porter and Mavis Riley. A lifelong Texan, Sondra grew up in Snyder, Texas before moving to Midland in the mid 1960’s. Always willing to lend a hand, or an ear, her family was her proudest achievement in this life. She looked forward to holiday get-togethers and any chance to spend time with her family was always welcome. Nana was well known for her strong, yet still gentle soul. She was a kind person who loved with all of her heart and would go out of her way to help provide for others. Nana will always be remembered for her humor, her honesty and her love of music and dancing. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Kennie Bomar of Midland; two sons, Steve Cantrell and his wife Candice of Midland, David Cantrell of Midland; one daughter, Robyn Sanders of Andrews; seven grandchildren, Cody Crossland and his wife Shellie of Midland, Jacinda Wilhelm and her husband Jeff of Midland, Amanda Brewer and her husband Matt of Midland, Travis Reynolds and his wife Mariah of Wewoka, OK, Dylan Sanders of Midland, Bransen Cantrell of Midland and Landen Cantrell of Midland; fourteen great-grandchildren, Celeste Helms of Midland, Hailey Chavarria of Midland, Hayden Crossland of Midland, Xavier Ramirez of Midland, Desi Brewer of Midland, Noah Brewer of Midland, Jude Brewer of Midland, Sloane Brewer of Midland, Kennedie Reynolds of Wewoka, OK, Morgan Reynolds of Wewoka, OK, Jayden Wilhelm of Midland, Skyler Wilhelm of Midland, Lane Wilhelm of Midland and Bryce Wilhelm of Midland. She is preceded in death by her father, Porter Renison, her mother, Mavis Riley; two brothers, Jackie Riley and Renie Riley and one sister, Patsy Cowart. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Hospice Midland for all of their loving care. A memorial will be held Saturday, November 12 at 3:30 p.m, officiated by Brother Bob Porterfield at American Heritage Cemetery/Funeral Home/Crematory, 4100 N. FM-1788, Midland, Texas, 79707. Rest in eternal peace Nana, we love you, always. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage.
