Margarita Baeza Ruiz

Margarita Baeza Ruiz, 81, of Odessa, TX, peacefully departed this life on March 23rd, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, finding solace in the embrace of her home. Her journey, marked by dedication and love, has led her to a well-deserved rest. Margarita leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her son Joseph Ruiz, daughter Melissa Beltran, daughter-in-law Maricela Ruiz, and cherished grandchildren: Jordan Ruiz, Brianna Ruiz, Daniel Beltran, Yleanna Beltran, and Amery Ruiz. Additionally, she is fondly remembered by her loving sisters Rosa Eldia Baeza, Maria De Jesus Carrera, Maria Ocegueda, Graciela Baeza, and brother Louie Baeza. She is predeceased by her parents Tomas P. Baeza and Apolinar A. Baeza, sister Flora Baeza Castaneda, and brothers Socorro Alberto Baeza and Luis Baeza. Born on June 10th, 1943, in El Pueblito, Mexico, Margarita was one of nine siblings. Despite not being the eldest, she assumed the responsibilities of an elder, nurturing and caring for her brothers and sisters and always being her father's right hand. Family bonds were paramount, and amidst the occasional sibling squabbles, their unwavering love was always apparent. Her siblings were her best friends. Margarita's childhood in El Pueblito was adorned with cherished memories, family traditions and deep-rooted relationships. Her journey took her from El Pueblito to Juarez and eventually to Bakersfield, California, where she met Joseph Ruiz. Their union blessed them with two children, Joseph Ruiz Jr. and Melissa Ruiz. In pursuit of better opportunities, they settled in Odessa, TX, in 1981. Margarita found success at Home Interiors and Gifts, where her innate talent for decorating flourished. She was esteemed as a Unit Manager, earning accolades, and forging lifelong friendships. Margarita was very intelligent, hardworking, and industrious. She was fiercely independent, ensuring her family's welfare without fail. Known for her fiery spirit and unwavering opinions, she never shied away from a debate, always advocating fiercely for her loved ones. Margarita was a queen in every sense, crowned both in her hometown and in her career. Her passion for decorating remained evident throughout her life. Her dedication to her children knew no bounds, instilling in them the value of hard work and resilience. Her expectations of her children were to surpass her accomplishments and successes, which was a large task. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, bringing boundless joy into her life. There was nothing she would not do for her grandchildren. Her love for them was unmatched and unconditional. They were her everything. This love extended to her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as they were all an integral part of her life as well. In her later years, she cherished moments spent with family, indulging in puzzles, tending to her yard, talking to family on the phone and occasional visits to the casino and her beloved El Pueblito. Though her physical presence may be absent, Margarita's spirit endures, leaving an indelible mark on those she touched. Her love, support, and fiery spirit will forever be remembered with fondness and gratitude. Rest assured she is judging how heaven is decorated and straightening a picture frame or candle. Margarita fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. She earned a well- deserved eternal rest. She will forever be missed and adored. Viewing and visitation will be on Tuesday, April 2 nd at 2pm with a Rosary following at 6pm at American Heritage Funeral Home 4100 FM 1788, Midland TX. Mass will be on Wednesday, April 3rd at 10am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N. Grandview Ave, Odessa, TX. The celebration of her life will follow at 12:00pm at The Downtown Venue located at 515 N. Grant, Odessa, TX.
