Margarita Puente Garces

Margarita Puente Garces, age 88, passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2022. Viewing will be on September 20,2022 from 5-8 pm. at American Heritage Funeral Home 4100 North FM 1788, Midland, Texas 79707. A Bible based talk will be given to the family on September 21, 2022 at 10 am . American Heritage Chapel with Oscar Sanchez presiding. Followed by a graveside burial at Serenity Memorial Garden 6800 Hwy 49, Midland, Texas. Margarita was born in Castaños, Coahuila on June 10, 1934 to Alfredo and Vicenta Cantu. She married Augustine Vielma Garces on October 3, 1953 in San Antonio, Coahuila. They had been married 60 years. Margarita is preceded in death by her husband Augustine V. Garces, and her sister Maria Irene Weir of San Antonio. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Noemi “Mimi” Eaton, Samuel Antonio “Tony” Garces (Lisa), Aracelia “Shelley” Givens (Joey), Augustine P. Garces Jr. (Amy), Alfredo “Freddy” Garces, (Yolanda), Vicenta “Vicy” Castro (Roberto), Elizabeth “Liz” Garcia, (Eddie). Along with her precious 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grand children and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins. Margarita was devoted wife, mother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and was also a wonderful friend to all she met in her preaching work. She was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 26, 1974. She loved to encourage people to read about her God Jehovah and share the promises she believed would come about from drawing close to Jehovah. When she wasn’t sharing her Bible thoughts she would be working on her plants and garden which were her favorite pass time. We would like to thank the staff at Ashton Medical Lodge and Hospice of Midland for all the attention and care that they provided during her stay there.
