Kaitlyn Nicole Embry

Kaitlyn Nicole "Katie" Embry, 27, of Midland, Texas, passed away on May 29, 2026, at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. Katie was born on August 5, 1998, to Kevin and Rachel Nielsen. She married the love of her life, Tristan Andrew Embry, on November 11, 2023, in Aledo, Texas. Katie was strong, courageous, intelligent, and fiercely independent. She could quickly figure out just about anything on her own and was often the first person family members called when they needed help with technology or solving a problem. Though she could be stubborn and, at times, delightfully exasperating, she was always loving, compassionate, and empathetic toward others. Katie had a gift for making people feel valued. She always found something kind to say to everyone she met, no matter how small, and she never missed an opportunity to check in on family and friends to make sure they were doing well. Her generous heart, warm smile, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Above all else, Katie was devoted to her family. She was a wonderful wife and an exceptional mother. Her husband, Tristan, and son, Colton, were the center of her world and her greatest source of joy. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second son, Baby Elijah, due in August of this year. The anticipation and excitement she felt as she prepared to welcome him into her family was evident to everyone around her. Katie shared an especially close bond with her mother. She was Rachel's rock, biggest supporter, and favorite adventure-seeking travel companion. Together, they created cherished memories while exploring new places, including fulfilling Katie's dream of international travel with a trip to England and Ireland. She looked forward to seeing even more of the world in the years ahead. As an only child, Katie was truly the light of her parents' lives. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in their hearts, yet her spirit, love, and legacy will continue to shine through her beloved son, Colton, and through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tristan Andrew Embry of Midland, Texas; her son, Colton John Embry; her parents, Kevin and Rachel Nielsen; her maternal grandparents, William and Loretta Burton; her paternal grandparents, Roger and Oveta Neilsen; her aunts, Marilyn Burton, Vivian (Roland) Brewer, Marites (Brad) Thomas, Gemma Ramoneda, and Jocelyn (Scott) Chamberlin; her uncles, Leslie (Shannon) Neilsen, Tom Meewes, Joel (Angie) Ramoneda, and Jeffrey Ramoneda; her cousins, Kimberly Antone, Joey Drullard, John and Kenneth Cook, Ryan, Reid, and Hailey Ramoneda, Jessica and Sydney Chamberlin, Krissy Rogers, and Nikki Turbush; her special sister and lifelong friend, Jacy Bailey; and numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Though her time on earth was far too short, Katie's life was filled with love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Katie's memory to a charity of the family's choosing. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. Rita of Cascia Greenwood, 8310 Farm to Market 307, Midland, TX 79706.
