Jimmie Don Newbrough

Jimmie Don Newbrough went into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father Sunday May 22,2022. He passed away at his residence in Odessa, Tx surrounded by his family. Jimmie was born October 19,1952 to the late Don Oliver Newbrough and Jean Brimer in littlefield, Tx. He was raised in west Texas later moving to Odessa, Tx where he went to Crockett jr high and Odessa high school. Jimmie was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game on TV. He enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to music. He loved riding motorcycles, collecting hot wheels, bowling and searching for treasures at pawn shops and garage sales. He had a heart full of love , loved telling stories, pulling pranks and was never far from his Diet Dr Pepper. He worked in the oilfields of west Texas for many years and then went on to become a truck driver. He was quite a character and so very funny. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend, husband, father , grandfather and great grandfather. He will be forever missed. He was predeceased by his parents. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Laura. His son, Shane Newbrough & wife Shandy, daughters, Jamie Lopez & husband James, Stephanie Gaines, Tracie Newbrough & husband Mikey, & Nicole Newbrough. 17 Grandchildren; Vanessa Layman, Daniel Layman, Joey Richmond, Amy Layman, Maisie Robert’s, Mick Newbrough, Zachary Thompson, Mason Newbrough, Lance Little, Bradley Gerber, Zane Thompson, Destiny Little, Zailey Thompson, Austin Mendenhall, Zarek Jojola, Rylee Mendenhall, Madilynn Newbrough. 5 great grandchildren; Presley Sydow, Arianna Buchanan, Carson Richmond, Nora Newbrough, & Charlee Newbrough. Survivors also include his brothers, Harold Newbrough and Bobby Newbrough, sisters, Laquita Westbrook and Ladonna Ruiz. Services for Jimmie will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday May 26, 2022 at 10:00 am, with Jimmy Braswell officiating. He leaves behind a big hole in many hearts and a legacy of love and laughter. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of his doctors and the staff of Home Hospice for their excellent care. “As God calls us, one by one the chain will link again.”
