Donald Glenn Kitts

Donald Glenn Kitts was called home on Monday, April 4, 2016. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Solid Rock Fellowship in Midland. He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Kitts of Midland, Texas; mother, Shirley Doss and step-father, Wayne, of Midland, Texas; three sons, Richard Gardner, Doug Gardner and Donald Arnold, all of Midland, Texas; two daughters, Samantha Stevens of Midland, Texas and Crystal of Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Clay Kitts of Culpepper, Virginia and Doug Doss of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Dee Dee Poteat of Culpepper, Virginia and Devlin Doss of Midland, Texas; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Kitts; daughter, Windy Altman and grandson, Grayson Arnold; sister in law, Gertie Hardwell, and both sets of Grandparents. Glenn was known for his big heart, who would give you the shirt off his back if you found yourself in need. Anyone who had the opportunity to know him will remember his patience and loving kindness. Glenn was a graduate from Lee High School in Midland. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed working with his hands. Glenn loved motorcycles, and believed there were few things in life that compared to traveling the open road on his Harley. He loved the great out-doors and thought the ideal vacation was a hunting or fishing trip. He loved playing his guitar and would relax with some Stevie Ray Vaughan licks. Glenn was a fan of NASCAR and the Kansas City Chiefs. He liked old TV shows like Matlock and Bonanza, and for his birthday, Glenn always requested his favorite German chocolate cake! Glenn was an ordained Baptist minister as well as a certified drug counselor and was always filled with good advice. Even toward the end he never complained about his medical situation. He was always found in good spirits despite the circumstances life threw his way. His greatest love, however, was his family and they will remember him as the greatest husband, dad, son, and brother anyone could ever ask for. His dedication to his loved ones was described as, “the glue that held us all together”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend special thanks to Solid Rock Fellowship for the love and support they’ve given so freely during this difficult time, as well as the oncology department and Midland Memorial Hospital. They also extend special thanks to Glenns mother, Shirley Doss and niece Angie McKinney for their special support they’ve provided.
