Christopher Brett Dooley

Romans 5:3-4 There are times in all our lives when we are called upon to suffer-suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character and at last, hope. Christopher Bret Dooley was born on June 26, 1987 and left us way too soon on October 12, 2011. He was 24 years old. He graced this life as son, brother, friend and his absence will be greatly felt for the duration of our years on earth. Our plea for just one more moment, word, hug, and kiss will go unanswered and although he may be away from our sight he is forever alive and remembered in our hearts. Chris' possession of fearlessness, great love for life and daredevil nature often resulted in his choosing to take risks without consideration of consequences. Somehow he usually managed to come out on top, wearing that cute little dimpled grin that was all his own. Chris was a loving son and grandson and a proud "Mama's Boy". He never failed to offer a hug and kiss followed by, "I love You". Though his life has ended unexpectedly, it is not in his death that we should dwell, but instead rejoice and remember his smile, his laugh. We are grateful for the time we were given; grieved by the time we can no longer have; empowered by the knowing that we will see him again healed and whole. As waves of sorrow wash over his many friends, those closest to him have shown true courage, amazing resolve and genuine loyalty under the most painful of circumstances. Devoted friends and loved ones will be forever changed by this experience. May it become a blessing in each of our lives and an offering of hope for a lifetime of living, not dying. Christopher is survived by his son, Colby Bret; Mom, Nannette Dooley; Dad and stepmom, Douglas and Rebecca Dooley; Brother, Heath Gryder; beloved grandparents, Ben and Judy Passmore and Mary Alford, "His Granny Me"; Great Grandmother, Alva Bryan and Great Grandmother Dooley. Viewing will be held at American Heritage of the Permian Basin Chapel Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 2pm to 8pm. Family will welcome friends and acquaintances of Chris on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm. Services are to be held at Alamo Baptist Heights, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Internment to follow at West Texas Memorial Park. Arrangements are under direction of American Heritage of the Permian Basin.
