Bettye Vivian Hoover

Bettye Vivian Hoover, aged 80, of Midland, TX, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Born on June 27, 1943, to Cap and Maudie Mae Wadkins in Brownwood, Texas, Bettye lived a life defined by love, service, and unwavering faith. On January 11, 2020, Bettye married Edward Clayton Hoover at Ranchland Heights Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Their union was a beautiful testament to their shared devotion and faith. She is survived by four children, Sherlyn Brown (Tim), Jeff Farmer, Glenn Farmer (Amy), and Dirk Farmer; fifteen grandchildren, Danny Farmer, Jessica Cain, Justin Lytle, John Lytle, Morgan Farmer, Kyle Farmer, Mariah Farmer, Gracen Farmer, Garrett Farmer, Katherine Farmer, Rissah Farmer, Michael Farmer, Kirstie Minihan, Devan Farmer, and Jake Crow; ten great-grandchildren, Maddie Cain, Dalton Cain, Aaron Lytle, Tatum Lytle, Maddie Lytle, Jaxon Lytle, Bryleigh Farmer, Everett Farmer, Bentley Minihan, and Aiden Farmer; and three brothers, Rayburn Wadkins, Bill Wadkins, and Harvey Wadkins. She is preceded in death by one son, Russell Farmer, and her parents, Wilburn "Cap" and Maudie Mae Wadkins. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Ranchland Heights Baptist Church in Midland, with Pastor Phillip Rutledge officiating. Bettye was known to all as a superstar—a very loving and caring person who lived her life in dedication to the Lord Jesus. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her longtime, faithful membership at Ranchland Heights Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in numerous ministries. Her heart for service extended far beyond her community. Bettye was a passionate missionary, spreading the love of Christ to the people of South America, including Peru and Machu Picchu. Her dedication to helping others was also evident in her longtime volunteer work in crisis intervention and her approved volunteer prison ministry in the state of Texas, where she touched countless lives. Bettye had a special place in her heart for children. She was always involved in Vacation Bible School (VBS), bringing joy and faith to the youngest members of her church. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Bettye Vivian Hoover's legacy of love, compassion, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a community forever touched by her kindness and devotion. Rest in peace, Bettye. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
