Benny Sweeden

Benny Darrell Sweeden was born on March 06,1963 in Odessa, TX to parents Kenneth and Sandra Sweeden. He was one of five children. The only boy in a sea of sisters. February 07, 1980, he married his high school sweetheart, Debra Anthony. They would spend twenty- five years together, creating a beautiful family of three children. Leaving behind a legacy of five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Benny would make a career in the oilfield and was always a hard worker. Providing for his family was very important to him. He held steadfast in his Christian faith; accepting Christ at Vine Baptist Church and was baptized at New Life Church in Odessa, Tx. Benny was known affectionately as "Paw or Paw Paw" to many, some who are not related. Always a warm hug or handshake to anyone he had the pleasure of meeting. He loved big and with his whole heart. Dad was also notorious for giving people nicknames, we considered this to be a tradition. "Peanut", "Bean Skinner", "Pop Squally" or "That Girl" were some of his favorites. He was sure to leave a lasting impression. Paw was a story- teller and loved to crack jokes. A smile or laugh was always expected when you spent time with him. Any kind of get together that was held, he would be sure to attend. Paw loved spending time with family and friends. Any opportunity to drink a cold beer and make some memories he was ready for. Karaoke was always a must have. He loved to sing anything form AC/DC to Roger Miller. Dad loved to hunt and take trips to the lake to go fishing, they were his passion. Later in life, he would enjoy soaking up the sun, sitting under the Hugging Tree, surrounded by family and friends in Brownwood, TX. In Dad's last few months, he was able to find love again with his girlfriend, Rochelle Bloodsaw. Her companionship brought so much joy to his life and put a twinkle in his eye. She meant so much to him. We will always be grateful to her for giving that to our Dad. Benny Sweeden went home to join Christ in his final resting place on September 10, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He means so much to many of us; Dad, Brother, Paw and friend. Our love for you will always surpass space and time. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. We'll see you in a day or two. Benny is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Sandra Sweeden. Mother-in-law, Melva Anthony. Brother-in-laws, Danny Luker and Greg Stevenson. Along with many other family members and friends. Benny is survived by his girlfriend, Rochelle Bloodsaw. Children; his son, Christopher and wife, Amber Sweeden. His daughter, Carissa and best buddy, Brian Mitchell. His daughter, Kayla and husband, Trey Miller. Grandchildren; Blaine Sweeden and Savannah Rivera, Zalie Sweeden, Madisen Sweeden, Amery Sweeden and Nevaeh Mitchell. Great grandchildren; Teegan Preslar, Shaela Sweeden, NovaLeigh Keneson and one on the way. His sisters; Rhonda and husband, Mark Tippit. Shelly Luker. Tammy Stevenson. Brenda and husband, Pepper Morris. Sister by choice: Lee Ann and husband Mike McClure. Along with numerous other family members and friends.
