Charles Evans Waight

The Good Lord came and took one of his favorite Angels on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Charles was born in Eagle Lake, Texas on September 19, 1948. He was 5 years old when his family moved to Toyah, Texas. He attended grade school and graduated from Toyah High and went on to attend Sul Ross University in Alpine for 2 years. Shortly after, he began his career in the oilfild. He worked for various oilfield drilling companies and held various positions. In 2003, he became a Consultant with various companies the latest being with J Cleo Thompson Company. Charles loved traveling, rock hunting and playing Casinos when they were available. During his career in the oil filed, Charles made numerous friends all of whom were very dear to him. Charles was well known for his compassion and the love of the Oil Industry. Charles married his wife Gloria of 36 years on June 20, 1976. Together they raised 7 children. He is survived by his wife Gloria; man's best friend his beloved Ricky; Sons, Walter R. Waight of Odessa, Phillip Alvin Rodriguez & wife Phyllis of Odessa, Donny A. Rodriguez and wife Laura of Pecos, David Barrett and wife Tommie of Magnolia. Daughters; Charlee Waight Gross & husband Darren of League City, Emily Waight & fiancé Tommy of Midland, Tootsie Videtto & husband Paul of Gardendale and Cecile Rodriguez and husband Trey of Monohans. Sister; Amelia Meadows & husband Larry of Big Spring. Brothers; Frank Lichnovsky & wife Roselyn of Big Spring. Two Aunts; Eddia Be a Franklin and Sammmie Lee Teague and Uncle Joe Kerr, all of Columbus, Texas. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 4 great - grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Charlotte Waight of Toyah, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was a very loving and caring man, who loved family dearly. "Papa Chuck", as he was known to his grandkids, will be greatly missed. Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery and Funeral Home at West Texas Memorial Park in Midland. Viewing will begin Saturday, October 20, 2012. Rosary will be SUnday, October 21, 2012 at 7:00 pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church with burial following at West Texas Memorial Park in Midland.
