Bill Gene Wooten

Bill Wooten went home to Jesus on December 20, 2020 at age 71. Bill was born to Dudley and Zelma Wooten on April 24, 1949 in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Odessa High School and at the age of 20 years old was drafted in 1969 where he served two years in the United States Army, MOS Ground Vehicle Mechanic attached to Artillery. In addition to being a dedicated and loving father and husband, Bill also loved fishing trips, his country and guns. He was kind, loving and giving to anyone he met. Bill loved to hang out with family and play the guitar. Towards the end of his life, he became a believer in Jesus Christ where he would get upset with those who bashed God. Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth. He is survived by his wife Robin Wooten; five children, Mindy Wooten of Bacliff, TX, Gene Wooten (Shelly Huff) of Midland, TX, Angel Akhtar (Faisal) of Alpharetta, GA, Brandon Wooten of Odessa, TX and Dayna Nicholson of Virginia; eighteen grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Jonathan, Troy, Jesika, Danyal, Caden, Cole, Ava, Matthew, Meranda, Ashilee, Brytini, and Angie, Randy, Brandon, Shane, Jason; twelve great-grandchildren; three siblings, Joyce Keesee, Jim Wooten (Rose), and Nicki Wooten; and his Sister In Law, Betty Wooten, nephew Terry Wooten (Rena), nephew James Wooten (Vanessa), nephew Ronald Wooten and niece, Becky Blake; two stepchildren, Chelsea Williams and Robin White. He is preceded in death by three children, Billy Shane Wooten, Tony Wooten, and Shar Wooten; his parents, Dudley Thomas Wooten and Zelma Jackson; and six brothers, Tom Wooten, Kurt Wooten, Allen Wooten, Dub Keesee, Nicki Wooten, and Terry Wooten. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4th, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at American Heritage Funeral Home in Midland, TX. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Burial immediately following. All arrangements will take place at American Heritage Cemetery Funeral Home Crematory.
