Reta Mae Taylor

Reta Mae Taylor, 88, of Odessa, TX passed away on April 19, 2021 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. Reta was born on December 30, 1932 to Albert and Mallinda (Sirratt) Ditto in Witchita Falls, Texas. She married Jim A. Taylor on October 29, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Reta loved cooking, going to cooking shows, collecting cookbooks, and grocery shopping! She and her late husband, Jim, enjoyed traveling in their RV's with Reta's sisters (The Ditto Girls), and their husbands. She worked in the meat market at Bill Sears' for many years. When seeing her grandsons, and great-grandsons, her face would light up; especially for her great-grandsons! She really enjoyed watching Mitch and MacAlister play baseball. She leaves behind six precious, beloved cats! She is survived by three children, Theresa Riddle (Mike) of Odessa, TX, Ricky Taylor of Tonopah, AZ, and Judy Puga (Richy) of Odessa, TX; five grandchildren, Mark Riddle, Matt Riddle, James Taylor (Kim), Chris Taylor, and Torreya Tongate (Derek Higgins); eight great-grandchildren, Mitch Riddle, Mason Riddle, MacAlister Riddle, Bryston Higgins, Christian Taylor, Trey Taylor, Bazleah Higgins, and Ambree Taylor; great-great grandson, Hudson Higgins; one sister, Mary Steed of Abilene, TX; and Daughter In Law, Janet Taylor of Amarillo, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim A. Taylor, and one son, Tommy Taylor. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM with funeral service starting at 1:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home in Midland, TX; burial immediately following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
