    Lonnie Joe Short

    August 11, 1947 - April 30, 2022

    Lonnie Joe Short, 74, of Midland, TX passed away on April 30, 2022 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. Lonnie was born on August 11, 1947 to Newton and Velma Mae Short in Sterling, Kansas. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1966. He married Linda Carole (Wiles) on June 10, 1977, in Midland, Texas. He worked at Drilco for 16 years where he met his wife ,Linda. They owned Short's Art Plaster in Comanche, TX and also worked for Harmons Machine for 10 years and retired in 2013 after 13 years working for M&M Sales. He enjoyed fishing and being at the lake, wood working, good food and being a Papa. He is survived by his spouse Linda Carole Short; four children, David Short (Jill) of Gardendale, TX, Christy Scott, Cissy Mahurin (Barry) of Midland, TX, and Candy Watt (Carson) of Midland, TX; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Lyle Short (Gaye) of Midland, TX and Lana Oberle (Gerald) of Chase, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Newton Lane and Velma Mae Short. A viewing will be held on May 9th, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm and Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday May 10th, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the American Heritage Cemetery.
