Ladislada Valles

Ladislada “LaLa" Marquez Valles, 90, of Odessa, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at home. Lala was a devoted wife and mother who always had high expectations of her children and grandchildren. Lala was a very sociable woman who enjoyed visiting her family and friends. She enjoyed coffee along with her Spanish telenovelas. Lala also enjoyed stimulating conversations and exhibited a sense of humor, but when she spoke, she was direct and straight to the point. Lala was born in Sanderson, Texas, to Paulino Valles, Sr. and Espiridiona Marquez Valles on June 27, 1931. She married Guadalupe C. Medellin on June 15, 1956, in Val Verde County, Del Rio, Texas and later relocated to Odessa. Lala worked as a clothes presser/cleaner for thirty years. She began her work at E & R Cleaners with Rita and Eugenio Castillo, her sister and brother-in-law. Throughout her life, Lala continued her work at Odessa Cleaners and Fashion Cleaners. Lala was preceded in death by her son, Carlos M. Medellin; parents, Paulino Valles, Sr. and Espiridiona Marquez Valles; brothers, Manuel Valles, Paulino Valles, Jr., Francisco Valles, and Genaro Valles; and sisters, Estella V. Ramos, Trinidad V. Olivarez, and Rita Valles Castillo. She is survived by daughters, Ciria Martha del Rio and Paulina Valdez, both of Odessa, and Lupe Aldrete of Midland. Lala also leaves to cherish her memory 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
