Doris Marie Brockington
June 26, 1955 - December 25, 2020
After a brave fight with sickness Doris was called home to be with our Lord on December 25, 2020. Doris was born to Preston and Olean Brockington in Paris, TX on June 25, 1955. Doris and her family moved to Midland, TX when Doris was a young child. Doris attended Midland High School and would later become a full-time homemaker. She was happiest when she was taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Doris enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing cards, and she would rarely miss a game of football or basketball. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed razzing others about their team, if Dallas wasn't playing Doris always went for the underdog. Doris also enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was "famous" for her Sock It To Me cake recipe, and enjoyed getting dressed up for her birthday parties. She had an infectious laugh and was known for her generous spirit, she was always there for a friend in need. Doris is welcomed into heaven by parents, Preston & Olean Brockington, brothers: Charles Hailey, Paul Brockington, Malcom Brockington, and sister Sherry Lyn Reed. Doris leaves behind to honor her memory, life partner O.D. Cooks, son Leonard Ray Brockington Jr, daughter Jacquelyn Rochel Brockington, Brothers: Joe Earl Tennon, Robert Earl Dangerfield, Preston Brockington Jr, Tommie Ray Brockington, Randall Brockington, and Alonzo Brockington, as well as 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, extended family, and her beloved friends.
