    Carrell Ray Stockton

    May 22, 1935 - October 15, 2018

    Carrell Ray Stockton passed away Monday, October 15th at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hawley, Texas on May 22, 1935 to Lee and Jewell Stockton. He was raised in Brownfield, Texas. He moved to Odessa in 1956 and started his career in the oil field. He worked for Kobe Industries and Packer Sales and Rental. He started Stockton Packer and Equip. in the 80’s and sold it in the 90’s. He never met a stranger. He was always known as “The Packer Man”. After selling his company, he continued to receive calls from companies needing his expertise. His passions in life were vegetable gardening, canning pickles, bluegrass music, playing cards or dominoes into the wee hours of the morning or until he won with his family. He also loved playing fast pitch softball when he was younger and sponsored a men’s traveling team in the 80’s winning many tournaments. He loved his Yorkie “Bizzi” which he called his “Baby”. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Farrel, and twin sister Pha. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Dee; two brothers, Tommy and wife Sue of Lubbock and C.L. and wife Chris of Glendale, Arizona; two sons, Allan Stockton of Odessa, Mike and wife Lisa Stockton of Austin; daughter, Kim Flook of San Angelo; two bonus daughters, Rose Ann and husband Jesse Lucero of Amarillo and Haley Marinovich of Odessa. Grandchildren are Justin Flook of Spring, Jessie Hoak and husband Wade of San Angelo, Jamie Flook of Spring, Lindsey Stockton of Austin, La Homa Cope, Vanessa Stockton Blanco, Trevor DiNielli, two bonus grandsons Jesse and Tristan Lucero of Amarillo, two great-grandchildren Hartlyn and Hayden Hoak of San Angelo. The family wished to thank the 8th floor Ortho/Nuero at Midland Memorial Hospital for their compassion and excellent care and Hospice of Midland. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
