    Betty Jean Totzke

    August 7, 1950 - December 3, 2021

    Betty J. Totzke, of Odessa, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2021. She entered this earth on August 7, 1950, in Odessa, TX, and is the daughter of Nedell 'Dale Lane and Leonard Jack' Norton Lane. Betty was well-known as everyone's "Nana". She opened Nana's daycare and learning center in 1989. Throughout the 28 years of her career, she impacted the lives of many children. She had a great passion for children and educating them. She was also known as the baby whisperer, as she could soothe any fussy infant, toddler, or child. She was very guilty of spoiling children. Her favorite saying was, "Nana is my name and spoiling is my game." Betty had a very giving heart and is loved by many. Betty is survived by her husband, Donald Totzke, of Odessa; daughters, Rachel Kevil and husband, Kyle of Burleson, and Brandy Turner and husband, Neil of Odessa, step-children, Corrina Bean and husband, Casey of Midland, Sean Totzke of Anchorage, Deana Stubblefield and husband, Tommy of College Station, and Serena Johnson and husband, Larry of Sherburn; grandchildren, Katelyn Watts of Odessa, Jaret Kevil of Burleson, lan Turner of Odessa, Christine Tenbrink and husband, lan of Austin, Corrine Bean of Austin, Caleb Bean of Midland, Zach Johnson of Sherburn, Jacob Johnson of Sherburn, Sierra Johnson of Sherburn, Mel Reveland of Sherburn, and Alex Stubblefield of College Station; great-granddaughter, Autumn Tenbrink of Austin; brother, Jackie Dale Lane of Houston; her loving caretaker of 3 years, Armie Alvarado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Barbara Ann Lane. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 9th, at American Heritage Cemetery Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Cleere will be officiating. Interment immediately following funeral service at American Heritage Cemetery Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 8th, at American Heritage Cemetery Funeral Home.
